The bur oak can grow 60 to 100’ tall and can live well over 300 years. It is a tough species that is able to survive drought and even resist fire. The bur oak doesn't produce its first acorns until it is 35 years old. Oak trees can be trimmed to a certain shape, but you must only remove branches that are growing towards the center of the tree which is why we recommend you call on Donovan Arborists.
