Before there was just Denver, there was the Town of South Denver. Citizens formed the community to keep out bars, brothels, and trouble. Today the area is known as Platt Park. The boundaries of the neighborhood are Broadway on the west, Downing on the east, I-25 on the north, and Mississippi on the south.

Here, Harvard Gulch Park North and Harvard Gulch West Park combine to appear as a single park of 4.4 acres. Then there’s the public 9-hole, par 3 golf course. A smaller park in Harvard Gulch is known as Rosedale. The Rosedale Community Garden is where neighbors gather annually for a Garlic Tasting Party complete with a cooking challenge and drinks.
