STATE CHAMPIONS

The Denver Botanic Gardens is home to 30 trees listed on the Champion Tree Registry. The list, maintained by the Colorado Tree Coalition, names the largest tree of each species defined by measure of the tree’s spread, height and trunk circumference.

The Botanic Gardens, located at 1007 York Street in Denver, has more than 30 Champion Trees, 10 of which were added in 2022. Specifically, you can see Quercus tentata, Quecus fusiformis, Pinus bungeana, Sequoiadendron giganteum “Pendulum”, and Heptacodium miconioides.
