Emerald Ash Borer

As of December 2018, more than 30 states have detected emerald ash borer infestations. The borer has now reached Colorado as well. Emerald ash borers have a lifespan of up to two years. Adults deposit eggs between crevices in the bark of ash trees. Once hatched, the larvae chew through the tree as they mature. Adult borers emerge from the trees after boring D-shape holes in the bark.

North American ash trees are highly susceptible to this beetle. Because of this, emerald ash borer prevention and control is paramount to maintaining the health of your ash trees.
