LAKEWOOD

Historians estimate that the Stone House at 2900 S. Estes St. in Lakewood, was built as early as 1859. River rocks were matched and stacked horizontally to create this unusual example of stone construction.  Quoins and lintels of rough-dressed cut sandstone are sophisticated ornamentation. The home stands in its original location (on the Bear Creek Greenbelt) surrounded by natural landscaping and 100+ year old oak trees. Stone House can be rented for weddings and events.
