Tree Planting

Lakewood lore has it that a hilly, dusty 9-hole golf course opened for play in 1905 in Lakewood with a mailing address of “Golf Colorado”. It was one of the first in Colorado and easy to get to from Denver. In 1908, the Colorado Golf Club incorporated and purchased 112 acres for an 18-hole course.

Trees on a course and in your own yard improve the looks and value of your property. Tree cover in US cities is shrinking. A study published last year by the US Forest Service found that 36 million trees are lost annually from urban and rural communities over a five-year period. That’s a 1% drop from 2009 to 2014.
